Diversity and inclusion make our community stronger. We want cppidioms.com — its comments, discussions, and any other place people interact here — to be a safe, helpful, and friendly space for everyone, regardless of background or experience level.

This code applies anywhere you interact with this site or its community, and to one-on-one communications made in that context, whenever such behaviour could reasonably be expected to negatively affect the safety or well-being of others.

Expected behaviour

  • Be welcoming.
  • Be kind.
  • Look out for each other.

Unacceptable behaviour

The following are examples of behaviour that will not be tolerated:

  • Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person.
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
  • Posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material.
  • Posting, or threatening to post, other people's personally identifying information ("doxing").
  • Personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or disability.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention of any kind.
  • Deliberate intimidation.
  • Ignoring stated pronouns, assuming gender, or intentionally misgendering people.
  • Sustained or disruptive demands for explanations or discussions of topics that are out of context, personal, or otherwise unwelcome.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour.

This is not an exhaustive list. If in doubt, remember the expected behaviours above.

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour — or have any other concerns — please email hello@cppidioms.com as soon as possible. We won't publicly disclose details of a report without your consent.

Enforcement

Site admins may take any action they deem appropriate for a violation of this code, up to and including editing or removing content, and suspending or permanently disabling an account.
